From Grapes to Wines Cool Climate Webinars Third Session

Thursday, February 4, 2021

The second session of From Grapes to Wines webinars took place last week on January 28 with the presentation of Dr. Belinda Kemp and Hannah Charnock from the Cool Climate Oenology & Viticulture Institute (CCOVI). They talked about how different sources of sugar can modify the wine profile, and whether metal concentrations of sparkling wines can tell us about the origin of the grapes used in the wines. If you were unable to join us for this session, you can watch it on-demand on YouTube from this link.

We would like to invite you to the third session on February 11, 2021, at 12:00 pm (AST). In this upcoming session, Basile Pauthier from The Comité Champagne will present ‘Spring frost in Champagne: Results from 100 years of research’, followed by a Q&A session.

In this session, we will see the frost management techniques applied in the world-wide known sparkling wine region, Champagne. Every year, about five to ten different frost fighting techniques are tested in Champagne and in other regions of France to estimate their technical, environmental and economic interest for viticulture.
