Tuesday, April 5, 2022

In this publication Dr. Harrison Wright and Jeff Franklin are sharing results of pruning trials after the lethal winter lows. This article follows the first publication at the end of January, right after the extremely low temperatures on January 22, 2022. To read the previous publication, please check this link.

This second article is titled A Nova Scotia Wine Grape Deep Freeze Event: Climate Trends, Considerations and Pruning. In this article, it’s possible to understand some of the reasons for this winter event and see how the climatic conditions have been evolving since the beginning of the previous century. Moreover, at KRDC different pruning strategies in these damaged plants were evaluated, including the main yield parameters and a couple of considerations depending on how to proceed.
