Happy Thursday Dear Growers!
Here are the Brix and Total Acidity values for this week. For comparison, I have also added the Brix values for the last two years as well.
Please be aware that these values are site specific. Depending on your site and cultural practices, sampling protocols, your results may be off by a brix or so.
The first table are Brix for the last two weeks; August 27th and September 1st.
The table below indicates BRIX VALUES ONLY for September 4, 2024 and September 2, 2025- for your comparison.
The dates may not match exactly because of either weather (rain) or days of the week (did not sample on weekends).
This data clearly indicates vintage variation (2024 was a warm year with adequate moisture); 2025 as we know was a very dry year, so evidently, the vines did slow down.
2026 is cooler with more precipitation, therefore it is expected that sugar accumulation would be slower as a result.
Each week, I send samples to the Acadia University labs for testing (ALAB), to ensure I receive accurate results.
